About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Depot Technician to join our busy team in our Rangiora Depot. Reporting to the Principal Rural Fire Officer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and servicing the region’s fire equipment – hose, hand tools and mechanised plant. This role includes carrying out regular audits and testing, as well as scheduled routine maintenance and repair work to a high standard. Alongside the team you will also be maintaining the fire equipment database, participating in health and safety planning, equipment checking and quality control activities. You’ll play a key role in enabling and supporting brigades to deliver an effective service to the community.

About you

Ideally you will have the following:

  • Experience in fire management and/or emergency management
  • Experience and knowledge in using and maintaining specialised fire equipment
  • An ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Exceptional time management and organisation skills

This role will involve some travel, to service remote sites. You will also need to have a full driver’s licence – Class 1 and 2.

So if you’re looking for a chance to put your diverse skill set to use in an organisation dedicated to helping our communities, then we’ll provide you with a unique opportunity to utilise your knowledge and experience in dynamic and supportive team.
