Land, sea and waterways are taonga that connect us all. Our expertise and information help develop and protect these environments for the benefit of all New Zealanders, our visitors and future generations.
To do this, we maintain a world-class survey and land title system that enables the transaction of property in New Zealand which is a key piece of economic infrastructure. We collect and make available for reuse geographic and property information that contributes to cultural identity and underpins New Zealanders’ ability to stay safe, travel, navigate, own and transfer property, and reduce exposure to natural hazards. We manage a significant and diverse portfolio of Crown land. This has expanded in recent years to include the residential red zone in Christchurch and the landbank of properties held for potential use in Tiriti o Waitangi settlements. We are also the stewards of four regulatory systems: property rights, property information, Crown land and overseas investment.
About the role
This senior position is part of the Executive Leadership Team that determines LINZ’s strategic direction and provides effective leadership to build our organisational capability.
LINZ is in the early stages of a business transformation programme which will ensure we are well-positioned to tackle some of New Zealand’s biggest challenges, both now and in the future. This is an exciting opportunity to have a valuable strategic contribution by ensuring our Corporate Group is well-placed to support LINZ through its transformation journey.
You will have proven senior leadership capability and a positive people leadership style. You set clear direction, foster an inclusive culture, and champion innovative and progressive thinking to continue building a high performing organisation through change.
You will have exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills and will ensure that the Corporate Group works proactively and collaboratively across the organisation and provides consistent and effective services to support us to achieve our outcomes and meet public sector obligations.
The person we are looking for will be future focused and drive us towards strategic enterprise solutions that support our leaders and people to work together by inspiring and encouraging initiative, creativity and inclusivity.
LINZ is organised into seven business groups, each with a specific functional focus and led by a Deputy Chief Executive. We have around 700 staff based in three offices in Wellington, Hamilton and Christchurch. LINZ offers the opportunity to build capability and broaden experience. While the initial assignment is to lead the Corporate Group, there may be opportunities to broaden your leadership capability and deepen your knowledge across other areas in the future.
