We have a fantastic opportunity for a suitably experienced public health medicine specialist to join our team on a fixed term basis as a Deputy Director Public Health.


Reporting directly to the Director of Public Health, this role is part of a highly capable team of public health physicians.


The Deputy Director of Public Health is a senior position designed to allow a public health medicine specialist to use their expertise to help deliver public health programmes and policies in partnership with other Ministry teams.  The role also provides opportunities for further development of specialist expertise through further training and work experience.  The position will also provide support to the Director of Public Health (DPH) to allow the delivery of the statutory and non-statutory functions associated with the DPH position.


To be successful in this role, we are looking for a person with significant experience as a registered medical practitioner holding a current Annual Practicing Certificate and with vocational registration in public health medicine.
