Desktop Engineer

We are looking for a Desktop Engineer to join our friendly Client Services team on a permanent basis.

The Client Services team is based in the Information Services unit and is responsible for 1st and 2nd level Service Desk support and is the custodian of NZQA’s Desktop, Laptop and Peripheral platforms. 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

  • Ensuring that all assigned service requests, incidents, or problems are resolved professionally and other IS teams are engaged as required, providing the client with a consistent level of service.
  • Identifying and championing opportunities to improve the value Information Services delivers, including identification of recurring issues.
  • Accurately documenting instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal, while following asset management processes, and keeping the CMDB up to date.
  • Preparing, installing, and maintaining end user devices, that is desktops, laptops, hybrid devices, mobile phones etc
  • Escalating problems & incidents to other teams / individuals as appropriate following Service Desk procedures and providing accurate & timely resolution for problems.
  • Setting customer expectations for call resolution and keeping the call record up to date with all relevant information

If you have experience in:

-       Service request fulfilment

-       Expertise in diagnosing, investigating and resolving incidents and problems

-       Experience with Windows 10 and Office 365

And have top notch client service skills, then this is the role for you!

NZQA is accountable for managing the New Zealand Qualifications Framework, administering the secondary school assessment system, independent quality assurance of non-university education providers, qualifications recognition and standard setting for some specified unit standards.
