As a large scale farming operation we grow, pack, distribute and market a wide range of annual and permanent crops, as well as added value products for the domestic and export markets.LeaderBrand is seeking a Digger/Grader Operator based in sunny Gisborne, working alongside the farming team completing a wide range of land development and farm maintenance work. Our continued growth creates exciting opportunities for our staff and also leads to new roles and opportunities for fresh ideas and expertise to join the LB team. We are looking for an employee who:·is a skilled and experienced digger operator·is able and willing to operate a range of new and old hired and owned earthworks machinery·can understand and follow plans, and work with multiple stakeholders·is energetic and physically fit and owns a ‘can do’ attitude·focus on quality outcomes·holds current NZ Drivers’ Licence with correct License endorsements – preferably Class 5·has basic mechanical skills and is an active problem solver.This is a broad scope role which covers all aspects of our horticulture operation including hands on help when required. The ideal candidate would be someone who can think on their feet to problem solve as they go and using their initiative to make decisions to complete the task at hand. Applicants will need to have proven machinery handling skills, strong practical ability and be prepared to assist with any role within the vineyard when required.You will be involved in operating vineyard spray equipment so experience and a current Growsafe certificate would be beneficial but is not necessary as full training will be given.You will have a can do attitude, good time management as well as the ability to work unsupervised. Flexibility and the willingness to work long hours at peak times of the year is a must.We can offer exposure to a broad range of viticultural techniques and practices as well as a solid career path with the opportunity of advancement.
