Electrix Limited is also one of New Zealand’s foremost electrical construction and maintenance companies and provides a wide range of services to the power, electricity, gas, industrial and commercial sectors.We seek the services of New Zealand three registered Distribution Line Mechanics to provide technical trades services to the company’s Streetlights team.Key responsibilities:The job holder is responsible for assisting the Technical Coordinator and Contract Manager with:Identifying electrical systems in preparation for workClimbing and working on electricity network structureUsing lines machinery plant and equipment in an electricity network environmentDetermining the condition of electricity supply linesApplying earths to and removing earths from overhead electricity supply line conductorsDeveloping work plans for construction and servicing overhead electricity supply lines and equipmentJoining electricity network overhead conductorsReplacing load bearing pole hardware in electrical networks up to 33 kVInstalling and replacing electricity network pole structuresInstalling electricity network overhead conductorsOperating ground and structure mounted electrical equipment associated with electricity lines up to 33 kVInstalling electricity network overhead conductorsRemoving electricity network overhead pole line installations up to 110 kVRigging electrical network structuresInstalling pad and structure mounted electrical equipmentInstalling and servicing street lightingInstalling and replacing aerial bundled conductors and associated line hardwareExcavating and reinstating underground cable installation sitesInstalling terminations and joints in polymeric insulated power cables up to and including 1000 voltsEnsuring that work is carried out to required standards and plans, stopping work if unsafe or not to standard, reporting QSE issues that arise and managing risks in the workplaceQualifications/training required:Must hold a New Zealand EWRB RegistrationA trade qualification as electrician or distribution line mechanic is requiredHands-on experience in distribution line work to industry standardsA thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirementsMust be hold a valid visa to work in New ZealandThis position is based in Silverdale. Attractive rates of pay are available commensurate with experience, together with an attractive superannuation (conditions apply) and company funded medical insurance.
