Applications are sought for an exciting opportunity to coordinate a national burglary prevention initiative at district level. The initiative is part of a joint justice sector burglary prevention and reduction initiative with the Ministry of Justice and Department of Corrections.

 

The initiative is aimed at target hardening, accompanied where appropriate, with a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) response to eligible victims of private residential burglaries. It also includes potential enhancements to Police’s current forensic technology.

 

The district coordinator will be situated in the Waikato District and will report to the National Coordinator: Burglary Prevention, National Prevention Centre, Police National Headquarters. The coordinator will organise and facilitate the implementation of the initiative at district level. 

 

Specifically, the coordinator will liaise between burglary victims and contractors to organise the timely installation of security measures and the application of CPTED guidelines on private residential dwellings.

 

As the District Coordinator of this initiative, you will:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Articulate the intent and importance of the initiative to key stakeholders
  • Coordinate the implementation of the initiative
  • Monitor and record project deliverables
  • Deliver ‘Our Business’

 

 

 We are looking for individuals with skills and experience in:

  • Coordinating and liaising with staff and stakeholders to implement initiatives
  • Identifying and mitigating risks
  • Recording deliverables
  • Providing clear and concise verbal and written briefings
  • Excellent Excel skills (shortlisted applicants are required to undergo an Excel Test)
  • Strong attention to detail when dealing with large volumes of data
