Inland Revenue is an essential part of the fabric of New Zealand. We collect most of the revenue that our government needs to fund and administer the significant social and economic policy programmes that provide support and care for the people of this country.

We want to be a world-class revenue organisation who make it simple, open and more certain for people to pay their taxes and receive their entitlements, and we have spent the last few years realigning all aspects of our organisation to enable this to happen. We have updated technology and introduced agile and multi-disciplinary teams who network together to create outcomes for the government and people. IR is delivering in an ever-increasing digital world, but it’s still for people.

The Enterprise Design & Integrity group is responsible for the services that provide advice, guidance and direction to ensure IR’s strategic intent is followed. These services include:

  • Corporate Legal
  • Governance and Ministerial Services
  • Integrity and Internal Assurance
  • Strategic Architecture
  • Strategic Portfolio Stewardship
  • Security Network
  • Privacy.

The teams provide enterprise-wide oversight and assurance for the organisation so that our people and information are safe and secure. We prioritise our work on the right things and we find innovation and improvement opportunities. As well as optimising the capability of our people to deliver to our strategic intent and ensure the Government, stakeholders and customers respect and trust that IR will deliver what is expected of a major public sector organisation.

As a Domain Specialist you will contribute to the Internal Assurance team to deliver on the IA workplan, supporting the team to foster strong working relationships to deliver on enterprise-wide oversight and assurance for IR.

In this varied role you will:

  • Work in an agile, customer centric and intelligence-led team where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in Internal Assurance
  • Deliver high quality assurance and advice services that are strategically focused on areas of highest risk or opportunity to add value
  • Have the opportunity to engage with, and develop strong working relationships across all areas of the business
  • Have a direct impact on the improvement of systems, processes and controls across the organisation

You will need to have experience in:

  • An ability to write clearly and concisely. You will need to have had experience at crafting business solutions that are seen as appropriate and positive.
  • Understanding how senior managers think and work, and an ability to determine the best way to get things done with them by asking the right questions and talking their language
  • Researching and gathering business data, drawing conclusions and translating it into logical written information and advice that meets the needs of the intended audience
  • Developing strong working relationships across all levels of a business and working with key stakeholders to ensure team credibility is maintained

This is your opportunity to continue to innovate and challenge yourself within our organisation. Please apply online, attach a copy of your CV and a Cover Letter outlining how you meet the role requirements as outlined here and in the Role Description and the Integrity and Internal Assurance blueprint document.
