We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Emergency Planner to join us to ensure that the West Coast District Health Board is capable of responding immediately and effectively to major incidents and emergencies.
Your job will be to assist with the development, implementation, testing and review of the internal and external emergency plans. You will also facilitate staff learning, particularly with key personnel in the successful management of major internal or external emergencies.
You will need to have a broad knowledge of emergency responses appropriate to health institutions as well as experience working in the health sector. You will be analytical in your approach and ideally have experience working on projects both independently and as part of a team.
Prior knowledge of Coordinated Incident Management Systems and NZ Legislation in relation to Emergencies/Disasters would also be a distinct advantage in this role. Our ideal applicant will have experience in training and or teaching adults as well as the ability to engage with a wide range of medical professionals and hospital staff of all levels.
You will have the skill to interpret information and explain this to others both verbally and in writing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that wants to branch into this area and further develop their career in the health and wider emergency response sector.
This position is a permanent, part-time role with the hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
