What you will do
The Energy & Resource Officer is part of the wider Defence Estate and Infrastructure (DEI) team and will help deliver a fit-for-purpose and sustainable estate. The role is responsible for identifying, influencing and implementing improvements in the effectiveness and efficiency of energy supply and demand.
Some typical elements of this role are:
Working alongside the Director Sustainability, Northern and Central Energy & Resource Officers, as well as experienced delivery, asset and facilities management teams, you’ll develop an annual plan and longer-term plans that will lead the way for best practice in this area.
The role supports Papakura Military Camp, RNZAF Base Auckland (Whenuapai) and the Devonport Naval Base. Regular travel to all three sites is a requirement of this role.
What we need
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with considerable technical knowledge of energy-related infrastructure and experience in energy management along with information analytics, particularly for energy and water demand in buildings, infrastructure and project delivery.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this role along with particular skills and experience in influencing or negotiating positive outcomes and effectively managing and solving a range of complex issues.
