Engineer, Compute, Store, Backup, Restoration

The Compute, Store, Backup and Restoration team monitors, manages and continually improves core infrastructure platforms services across multiple cloud environments, while also working closely with other product teams to deliver a modern IT solution to the NZDF.

The role

As an Engineer, you will be responsible for Core Infrastructure operational support, including incidents, problems and changes, planned maintenance, automation and service enhancement. You will participate in the development of new products and services as part of a DevOps team. You will work, from time to time, with other product teams to ensure that mutually beneficial goals are achieved.

Technical skills

Knowledge of,exposure to or a desire to learn the following:

Windows Server 2012-2019;
Linux;
Azure Platform and Azure Stack;
VMware platforms and tools;
Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery;
IP Networking;
Server Monitoring and Management Tools;
Knowledge of NZISM and ITIL.

Experience

An IT related degree or certification; and/or;
Worked in an IT environment;
Experience with IT Security is advantageous.
