Nursing at Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections) offers many unique opportunities to develop and practise your skills in a wide range of clinical areas. On any given day Nurses working in our prison health centres provide a full range of primary health care services. Nurses assess and manage people with a variety of health needs including, physical and mental health, substance abuse, health education, as well as responding to emergencies and providing acute care.
We have a dedicated and passionate team. A team of Nurses that run each Health Centre and work collaboratively with Doctors, Allied Health staff and custody personnel. We’re united by our goal of making a positive difference in the lives of those in our care, their families and the community.
We currently have a fixed term, 12 months position available at Auckland Prison, Albany for an Enrolled Nurse who can demonstrate;
Shifts include weekend work, but no night shifts, as there is an on-call triage system in place overnight.
