About the role

Reporting to the ePMO Manager, the Delivery Practice Lead is responsible for the delivery and performance of all team activities to ensure the secure and efficient delivery of multiple projects across the organisation. This role leads the project delivery portfolio and is responsible for establishing and maintaining the programme and project management practice in Callaghan Innovation. This includes defining frameworks, processes, tools and templates, undertaking project and programme performance reporting and providing project management and business analyst support to staff.

This position encompasses the following major functions:

  • The Portfolio work programme is developed and implemented, including ensuring the right resource levels are in place to deliver the portfolio
  • Project management frameworks, processes, tools, templates and reporting are in place
  • Programme and project assurance are undertaken, and a cycle of continuous learning is implemented
  • Callaghan Innovation staff are supported in their use of project, programme and portfolio methodologies
  • Operational leadership
  • People leadership and management
  • Strategic alignment and resource management
  • Management of key partnerships

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and minimum 10 years proven experience in programme/project management and delivery
  • PRINCE2 certified
  • In depth understanding of the particular demands of managing the delivery of multiple projects in the public sector
  • Previous exposure of ePMO or Managing Successful Programme (MSP) would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience of being an effective member of the leadership leading and managing direct reports within a large and complex programme office
  • Demonstrated excellence in design and project management skills and practices
  • Proven ability to drive alignment with analytical and evidence-based decision making
  • Ability to identify risks and opportunities adding value to internal and external clients and stakeholders
  • Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with teams and internal/external partnerships
  • Uses a clear and professional written and verbal communication approach appropriate to strategic or tactical purpose, at a level relevant to needs of the position
