The Opportunity A position has become available in our Palmerston North Warehouse for an experienced and dedicated person. The role’s purpose is to assist with the provision of efficient and effective equipment & refurbishment services on behalf of the Ministry of Health. What you will bring •Previous warehouse experience working with inventory control, inwards receipting and outwards despatching warehouses/purchasing systems on a computerised inventory system•Light engineering skills and basic or advanced electrical knowledge•Experience with fitting, repairing and maintaining parts and accessories on basic equipment, disability equipment an advantage.•Excellent communication skills •Computer literacy and ability to learn new programmes•Current drivers licence•Self-motivation•Ability to develop a high level of product knowledge in an ever-changing supply field We are looking for someone with previous warehousing experience and the right ‘can do’ attitude demonstrated by an ability to respond positively to a changing working environment and fluctuating workloads. ​​

MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.
Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000. In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.
Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures. Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa.
