Contract: 12 Month – Fixed term 

Hours: Flexible – 2 days per week (16 hours)

ABOUT THE ROLE / MO TE MAHI

Equity is an essential component of any population-based screening programme and a key measure of quality. The National Bowel Screening Programme is being launched across New Zealand, and we are looking for a Bowel Screening Equity Project Manager Regional Lead.

As our new Equity Project Manager will work towards eliminating inequity, as well as promoting and monitoring equity within the Central Region. You will take a lead role in supporting DHBs to identify, and remove barriers to access to care for bowel screening and to focus resources to enable equitable health outcomes for all population groups.

Your role will be to proactively work with teams at the six DHBs in the Central Region to achieve health gain for Maori through the promotion, development and implementation of health gain initiatives. 

Do you have the experience and skills we are looking for:

  • Sound understanding of Te Ao Māori, and confidence working within tikanga and kaupapa Māori environments
  • Ability to engage and effectively communicate in Te Reo Māori would be advantageous
  • Experience in a health or management environment with an equity focus
  • Experience working in collaboration with Māori communities and organisations throughout the Central Region including iwi, hapu and Maori providers

This is a 12 month fixed term contract with flexibility to work 16 hours per week.
