  • Establish the estimating function for Kiwirails Capital Projects and Asset Development Group

    Kiwirail is upgrading our rail infrastructure across New Zealand. With recent government investment in substantial programmes of work, we require an experienced Estimating Controller to join the team.

    Based in our modern Sylvia Park office the role sits within the Chief Financial Officer group, and supports the Capital Projects and Asset Development (CPAD) finance and commercial team.


  • lead the establishment of the estimating function for CPAD.
  • deliver timely, reliable and best practice cost estimating tools that support projects at all stages and locations.
  • Utilise cost methodologies, software models and packages to prepare and maintain reliable and accurate estimating norms
  • Educate and provide the business with a subject matter expert in Estimating practices
  • Your Experience:

  • Demonstrated significant experience in the effective application of estimating management systems and processes
  • Prior experience in establishing an estimating function
  • Previous exposure to large civil/infrastructure programmes of work
  • Your skills:

  • Expert data manipulation, reporting, Power BI
  • Expert system diagnostic abilities and performance improvement.
