We are looking for a positive and highly motivated Executive Assistant to join our dynamic, high performing team. You will report to the Team Leader Executive Services, but on a day-to-day basis, you’ll support members of our Senior Leadership Team or Executive Leadership Board.


What You Will Be Doing:

The Executive Assistant will contribute to the overall performance of the Police Executive by providing high level, professional executive assistance and management support.


The position will support members of the Executive Leadership Board and Senior Leadership Team on a rotational basis with an expectation that the Executive Assistant will be able to work in any portfolio as required.


You will contribute to and encourage a high performance culture that supports each other to perform at their potential and in doing so contributing to high trust and confidence in police.


Core Duties:

  • Provide proactive strategic executive support including proactive risk management to ensure the Executive Leadership Board / Senior Leadership Team member is kept informed of issues and priorities and has the relevant information required
  • Develop a good understanding of the Executive members work portfolios and a thorough understanding of the priorities of the Executive member
  • Act on the Executive Leadership Board / Senior Leadership Team member’s behalf in routine matters in their absence
  • Proactively review papers submitted to the Executive Leadership Board / Senior Leadership Team member to ensure they are fit for purpose, meet the quality standards required and ready for signing
  • Manages the day to day office systems including diary management, meeting management co-ordination, correspondence, event planning, travel and logistics to ensure a seamless approach
  • Provide secretariat services and produce clear and concise minutes, maintain a tracking system for key priorities and follow up on Action Points with the Executive Leadership Board / Senior Leadership Team member’s direct reports
  • Collaborate with colleagues, proactively address issues, look for shared wins and outcomes


What You Will Bring:

  • Demonstrable track record of supporting high level Executives as an Executive Assistant
  • A positive attitude and can thrive in a high pressure environment
  • Demonstrates integrity and loyalty with colleagues, peers and clients alike, maintains confidentiality and discretion when executing the Executives’ instructions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Anticipate situations and issues as they arise and provides a solution focused service
  • Experience in Public Sector environments   


Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
  • Must hold a current driver’s license
  • Obtain a Non-Core Children’s Worker Security Check
