This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant to join our Te Kāhui Kāinga Ora group. This newly established group is focused on partnering with whānau, hapū, iwi and other Māori entities in order to achieve their aspirations; delivering on key initiatives to improve Māori housing outcomes

About the role

Supporting the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE), Tumuaki for the Te Kāhui Kāinga Ora, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of this busy group within the Ministry. Some of your day to day tasks will include, diary management including drafting responses where appropriate, acting as a first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, arranging travel, processing invoices and minute taking as well as supporting the wider group when required.

About you

This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant who is comfortable multitasking through a busy workload. Using your sound judgement, you will quickly be able to prioritise, know when to escalate and have the confidence to take ownership of important tasks that will ease the work pressures of this DCE and group. Your excellent communication skills will see you easily build strong working relationships across the organisation.  Some experience and knowledge of Tikanga Māori and Te Reo would be an advantage.

Your background and experience will include:

  • Ability to pre-empt DCE’s needs and identify priorities and risks
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive approach to your work
  • Ability to use sound judgement
  • Email and diary management
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High integrity and proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Familiar with booking travel and events as required
  • Experience managing invoices
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Confidence in working across ambiguous and changing environments.
