Executive Support, The Office for Māori Crown Relations – Te Arawhiti

The Office for Māori Crown Relations – Te Arawhiti plays a key role in building New Zealand’s future. Our work programme is varied and ranges from the settlement of long-standing historical Treaty grievances, administering the Marine and Coastal (Takutai Moana) Act 2011, ensuring the Crown’s Treaty Settlement commitments are met, and supporting and providing guidance to the public sector to support positive engagement and relationships between Māori and the Crown. Our work is high-profile, fast-paced and rewarding.

Reporting to the Regional Director, we currently have an Executive Support opportunity available in our Treaty Settlements team.  This is a key support role which requires strong administration and organisational skills.  Your effective communication, problem-solving and teamwork abilities will mean that you are comfortable with ambiguity and responsive to working collaboratively with others in a fast-paced, changing environment.  We welcome applications from candidates who are highly motivated and can demonstrate initiative and a can-do attitude.

Knowledge and familiarity of te reo me ōna tikanga Māori, a background in public service and an understanding of the machinery of government would be an advantage.

Salary range:  $48,853 – $68,968
