Job Description & Summary

Kia ora,

As a team of trusted business advisers, we partner with our clients, and their communities to build long lasting relationships and solve complex problems.

I kōnei i PwC, ko tō mātou aronga ki te āwhina hei hanga whakawhirinaki i rō hapori, ā, hei whakatika i ngā raru nui

PwC’s purpose is to build trust in society and solve important problems.

Working together can be hard. People have different perspectives, alignments, motivations, skills, beliefs, and responsibilities – that need to find ways to fit together in order to solve complex problems. The Experience Consulting team creates ways for people – communities, organisations, governments – to collaborate on complex social issues. Additionally, we focus on reshaping the experiences New Zealanders have with organisations, businesses and our government, so that they might continue to deliver impactful change for Aotearoa.

Who are we looking for?

You’ll be joining the Experience Consulting team based in Wellington. We are looking for impact-driven people to join our rōpū, who are ready to hustle and make a meaningful difference for our clients and Aotearoa. You need to be collaborative, strategic, and solution-focused.

You’ll be working with a great team of committed people, who will embrace the skills and strengths you bring. Fundamentally we are all Human Centered designers – we design with outcomes in mind and people front and centre. This means we bring the following to the table:

Our Sandbox experience, facilitation and service design work embodies a unique blend of co-design methodology and experience design tools that are tailored to uncover richer, more holistic solutions.

Digging into and exploring the needs of customers and clients can make or break organisation and change programmes. Insight expertise provides valuable quantitative analysis, while translating qualitative experiences into strategic decision making opportunities. This includes:

  • Customer Experience (CX) & Analytics

  • Customer Journey mapping (CJM) / Service blueprints

  • Ethnography & Qualitative Customer Insight

  • User testing / Interviews

  • Storytelling

Storytelling has lived at the heart of culture since time began. Today, strategic narrative design helps simplify complexity, make it accessible and connect people with its true intent. This includes:

  • Copy-writing

  • Creative Communications

  • Live Scribing

  • Visual Illustration

  • What would you be doing?

Every day is different for our Experience Consulting team. We predominantly work with public sector clients – this means improving outcomes for New Zalanders. We are collaborative by nature, and partner with clients and experts alike to combine global best practice human centred design, te ao Māori principles and subject matter specialists. Right now our team are involved in community and government engagement, developing design and strategy hubs, supporting the strengthening of Crown-Maori relationships, and conducting customer research.

What do you need to bring to the role?

  • A strong understanding and appreciation for the design of a process

  • An innate ability to absorb and synthesise complex information, and articulate it in a clear and concise manner. Confidence to articulate insights and solutions across all levels of an organisation.

  • Collaborative, flexible and adaptable working style that operates with a growth mindset.

  • Effective problem solving skills that balance the divergent views of stakeholders

  • Clear communication that brings clarity and credibility to a wide range of senior leaders and executives.

  • A solid work ethic coupled with a capacity to turn-around tasks/deliverables rapidly, resulting in a consistent throughput of work outcomes

  • Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to apply patience, empathy and a collaborative approach to complex challenges

  • Be high functioning and effective, while straddling the balance between being driven and collaborative

  • Our Mātāpono

We work within the values and purpose of PwC and layer upon them the following Mātāpono (principles):

  • Whakamana: Working to ensure we are all empowered in our decision making.

  • Tauutuutu: Working with our communities in a reciprocal manner.

  • Rangatiratanga: Creating opportunities for all to lead and create transformational change.

  • Whanaungatanga: Making connections by building and creating authentic relationships with whānau and partners.

  • Manaakitanga: Working with our clients with due professionalism and courtesy.

  • These principles guide our approach and our Human Centred Design.
