Family Violence Response Specialist – Oranga Tamariki – Southland Site
Looking for a challenge? We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part time 20 hours Family Violence Response Specialist position based at our Southland Site. These are pivotal roles who work closely with our interagency partners to access family violence referrals plans and ensure the safety and wellbeing of our whānau.
A big part of this role focuses on advocating our tamariki and rangatahi needs while supporting and providing a voice where appropriate. You will also be bringing in your well-established relationship skills as you will working and partnering with external stakeholders from diverse cultures, their practices and beliefs.
In this role you will be required to review POL 1310s to determine the nature of Oranga Tamariki contribution along with deciding on Oranga Tamariki intervention options for the POLs. You will also play a part as a consultant for sites in relation to family violence matters, act as an educator to help increase knowledge in relation to family violence and act as a conduit between the family violence sector and Oranga Tamariki as required.
While bringing your well-developed customer focused approach, you will be participating in Intensive Case Management Meetings and daily Safety Assessment Meetings (SAM) to contribute to the safety and well-being of tamariki and whānau. Motivation and confidence play a vital part in this role as you will need to be confident in representing Oranga Tamariki, the SAM, ICM and the FV sector.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with peers and other stakeholders. We are also looking for an individual with a proactive customer focused approach with the ability to work autonomously. Previous experience and knowledge of family violence response pathways would be an advantage.
