Ngā mōhiohio e pā hānga ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

The Finance Associate is a key role in Nelson Marlborough Health’s (NMH’s) financial business partnering team to ensure the delivery of a range of financial management activities to the wider Clinical Services team.

The position reports to the Finance Manager and the focus is on providing service-centric and customer-focussed value to meet the needs of the organisation. Regular risk analysis, variance reporting, budgeting and forecasting are important elements to the position.

This is a new, permanent, full-time position working 80 hours a fortnight.

You will be a self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables and, under the guidance of the Finance Manager, you will produce high quality outputs within required timeframes.

Your experience and qualifications should include the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or other relevant business discipline
  • Chartered Accountant (member of NZICA/CCANZ) or professional membership of professional accounting body
  • Extensive experience (ideally four plus years) in a finance/accounting or public sector financial management field
  • Demonstrable experience in partnering with a business operation to deliver value
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of delivering financial/accounting services in a large and complex organisation
  • The ability to analyse complex issues, provide solutions and communicate these clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Previous health sector experience would be desirable.
