What you will do
In this role you will be responsible for assisting the Shift Leader in all matters. You must have a strong understanding of Domestic / Industrial firefighting and be capable of leading team members during routine tasks unsupervised (if required) and at all emergencies incidents under the direction of the Shift Leaders. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a role that will focus your skills into the area of aviation rescue and firefighting, along with emergency response and the preservation of life and assets.

As firefighting is not without its challenges you will be highly resilient, adaptable to changing situations, able to think clearly and respond effectively under pressure. You can confidently communicate with a wide range of people and build sustainable professional relationships with ease. We are looking for strong team players who enjoy being part of a professional, friendly and collaborative team.
You will have completed the necessary firefighter training (FENZ QFF or equivalent), be FENZ Emergency Response Driver qualified and additionally you have held a full Class 2 Drivers licence for at least six months. There may also be times when you will be required to work outside of normal hours or travel to other bases and camps within NZ for several days or a couple of weeks. There can also be overseas training so you will require a valid passport.
It’s important you can work rostered shifts which includes weekends and public holidays. To compensate for this, we offer a salary loading payment in addition to base salary.
