Air New Zealand at New Plymouth Airport have a fixed-term Customer Service Agent opportunity available. The fixed term contract is six-months in duration to assist with an increase in the domestic schedule. 

What will you be doing?

As the first point of contact in the Airport, we expect you to delight our customers by demonstrating the Kiwi charm and capability that we’re admired for around the world. You will provide technical assistance and expertise to ensure the travel experience is smooth and seamless from check-in through to boarding. You may be searching for passengers to ensure on-time performance of our aircraft one day, and helping unaccompanied minors or passengers requiring special assistance the next.

This is a front-line role where your charisma and empathy continues despite sometimes challenging circumstances such as delays or disrupts. You’ll need to be friendly, energetic, with a can-do attitude and great thinking on your feet! Ideal candidates will demonstrate the wow factor and show a true passion for service quality. Safety and Security are top priority and you’ll have comprehensive training & support to ensure you, your colleagues, and customers are safe in this fast-paced environment.

You’ll need:

  • Entitled to live and work permanently in New Zealand at the time of applying
  • NZ Restricted or Full Driver Licence with reliable transport to work
  • Frontline customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to work with computers, remember booking codes & processes, and pick up new systems quickly
  • Your excellent communication skills and professional, friendly manner will be critical to your success in this position.
  • Fully available for rostered shift work (as detailed below)
  • Rostered Shifts:

    The role is part time, with a minimum of 36 hours per fortnight up to a maximum of 72 hours per fortnight. Change is a constant in this role and we are looking for people who have the commitment and flexibility to work in this type of environment. You will be working days, nights, weekends and public holidays, made up of rostered shifts which rotate and change. The shifts can range from a 0515 am start to a 2100 finish. This is a part-time position, working a minimum of 20 hours per week but possibly more depending on the flight schedule and the business needs.
