The Team: What we do

We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to join our team of Allied Health Professionals at Ashburton Hospital on a fixed-term, part-time basis (24 hours per week) until approximately September 2020!

We are a small team of rural generalist specialists which means that a flexible approach and ability to work across an inpatient, outpatient and community settings would be advantageous. We are a supportive group of physiotherapists and Allied Health Professionals committed to providing the highest quality services to our patients.

This is a varied opportunity working across a range of environments, including travelling within the Ashburton district. We offer flexible days and hours which are to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The Role: Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Delivering a high standard of care to patients
  • Managing and prioritising your caseload independently
  • Supporting physiotherapy services within our inpatient environment as well as providing outpatient clinics
  • Working within an inter-disciplinary team to support the effective functioning of the service
  • Appropriate delegation of tasks to our Allied Health Assistants to utilise resource and support their professional development
  • Supervision of Allied Health Assistants

Your skills will include the following:

  • Flexibility and adaptability, along with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm for knowledge sharing across and beyond your discipline
  • The ability to establish an early rapport with patients and families and negotiate appropriate solutions
  • Proven experience post-qualification, with exposure across all generalist physiotherapy areas
  • Experience within the public health system is advantageous, as is familiarity working within a multidisciplinary team
  • New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist and current Practising Certificate is essential
