Front of House – Senior
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) supports the Governor-General in her role as the representative of New Zealand’s Head of State, Queen Elizabeth II, and to fulfil important constitutional, ceremonial, community and international roles.
The team at Government House ensures the effective support of the Governor-General, including planning, organising and delivery of all official engagements and events, and ensures the Their Excellencies are also supported daily through personal, discrete and attentive service.
We have a vacancy in our team for a Front of House and events specialist. The successful applicant will have experience delivering events, co-ordinating with local suppliers and multiple stakeholders to deliver successful, high quality results. Candidates are also expected to have a demonstrated understanding of high quality service and be capable of delivering personal discrete service to Their Excellencies.
You will be provided an opportunity to step into a role supporting a highly visible leader, where you will be an important member of the service delivery team. You will be a team player, flexible and willing to pick up a range of tasks to support our objectives. Most importantly, you’ll come with a keen eye for detail and delivery of high level events.
You will work closely with Team Leaders across Government House Wellington, including Programme and Events team, FOH permanent and casual wait staff, household and kitchen staff to deliver a wide variety of hospitality tasks. This position will require you to:

We need someone who is flexible, possesses a strong attention to detail, is committed to and understands quality service. You need to be available to be part of a rotating roster and, if required, have the availability to work weekends and travel to Government House Auckland.
