Firstgas, Gas Services NZ, Flexgas and Rockgas. The names say it all, we?re in the business of ?gas?. More specifically, we own and operate the pipes, storage, tanks, cylinders and trucks that deliver natural gas or LPG to about 165,000 customers across the country. We?re also very much about the future ? exploring alternative energy sources that are sustainable, environmentally friendly and deliver New Zealand?s energy needs in a changing world.The Role:New Zealand has set a challenging target of net zero emissions of all greenhouse gases (other than biogenic methane) by 2050. We believe that Firstgas Group will play a significant role in contributing to New Zealand achieving its zero-carbons emissions future and we have already completed/co-completed successful studies into hydrogen and biogas as alternative energy sources. Our commitment to renewable energy has led us to create a new Future Fuels team which will be responsible for developing and implementing Firstgas Group?s renewable energy strategy, new technologies, programmes and partnerships ensuring sustainable business growth, high public trust, reduced environmental impact and compliance with government mandates and regulations.The new position of GM, Future Fuels is an outstanding opportunity. As a member of the Executive Leadership team you will contribute to setting the strategy and leading our business through what will be an exciting and dynamic next few years. As the GM, Future Fuels, you will lead a team of specialists to develop and successfully execute Firstgas Group?s renewable energy strategy which will include identifying new energy growth areas and opportunities including potential M&A and Joint Ventures/Partnerships.You will also play a pivotal role in building and increasing our brand and ?customer and public attractiveness? in the renewable energy space through leading public relations, marketing and lobbying efforts and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders including customers, investors, regulatory entities and government.What you will bring:You will be a collaborative and inclusive leader who can demonstrate relevant experience as a senior leader with a track record of developing impactful strategy and delivering through change. You will bring in-depth experience and knowledge of the energy sector and renewable energy project development and investment. As the ?face? of Firstgas Group?s renewable energy strategy, your outstanding influencing and relationship management skills will ensure that you can work credibly with a wide range of stakeholders.
