What you will do
You will support the capture, maintenance, processing and integration of spatial, geographic, and textual data using ESRI ArcGIS, applications used by NZDF, and other GIS related tools. You will also assist in progressing DEI’s ability to provide the right information, to the right people, from the right data, stored in the right place, and ensure data is available at the right time.

What we need
We are seeking a person with prior experience in Geographical Information System (GIS) data management and analysis; this covers creating custom map products using GIS software suites and an awareness of spatial data with the ability to assess, interpret and present spatial information. You will also bring experience with the management of databases and the ability to produce written reports and detailed system related documentation.

The current estate is a complex network of approximately 81,000 hectares and 5,000 buildings spread across nine camps and bases, two large land training areas and various regional locations.
