What you will do
RNZAF Ohakea are looking for a technical supervisor to manage the delivery of technical support to ensure continuous availability of all equipment and systems located in or around the Base. You will be responsible for the effective management, maintenance and administration of the ground-to-air communication facilities and equipment, in particular radio communications.
You will be response for technical supervision of subordinates, certification of maintenance and the training/development of avionic mechanics in support of the Ground Communications and Airfield Support Services Bay and Avionics Squadron Ohakea outputs.
What we need
Ideally you will have a minimum of six years’ experience as an avionics tradesperson, RNZAF or aviation industry equivalent, with exceptional knowledge of general avionic trade practices and processes as well as aeronautical and non-aeronautical communications systems. Electrical Service Technician qualified and registration with Electrical Workers Registration Board is also a requirement.
You will have competent skills and experience in fault-finding electronic and electrical equipment at a system and component level.
Your quick thinking and problem solving skills will be well utilised in this role as you will be required to make decisions, be confident in why you made them, and provide advice on specific equipment.
Very strong communication, organisational and relationship management skills will see you successful in this role.
There is a requirement to travel within the Central region with this role, so a clean Class 1 drivers licence is essential.

* you must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
* This role will commence in January 2019 (Interviews etc. will take place in late November/early December).
