What you will do

The role of the Group Support Administrator is to provide professional, efficient and effective support services to and for veterans as well as the teams within Veterans’ Affairs (VA) and to support VA’s work with veterans and other stakeholders. This is a multi-faceted, challenging role with many parts, working in a busy, deadline-driven environment.

Please note: This is a 6 month fixed term opportunity, secondments are welcomed.

What we need

If everything you do has supporting veterans’ as your focus then you may just be who we want!  Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in general and/or financial administration;
  • Experience in providing a broad range of admin or corporate support to operational teams;
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail along with confidence using IT and information management systems;
  • The ability to produce professional and accurate business documents;
  • The willingness and ability to respond quickly to the needs of your team and Business Services overall;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to a wide range of people across all levels of the organisation.

With your energy and drive, you will love the challenge of working in this dynamic and fast paced environment.  You’ll show a high degree of self-motivation and initiative as well as managing your time effectively.  You’ll have a knack for providing exceptional customer service to all VA clients as well as building professional working relationships and networks.

You’ll be a strong team player who works collaboratively with others in the team along with being an active participant who shares ideas and supports others when required.

The remuneration band for this position is $53,910 – $66,595, inclusive of a 4% employer superannuation contribution.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
