For further information visit www.westpower.co.nz, www.electronet.co.nz and www.mittonelectronet.com The Role We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager, reporting to the GM Safety, People & Corporate, to provide strategic and operational health, safety and wellbeing leadership to the team at Westpower and the ElectroNet Group. This role can be based on the West Coast or in Christchurch (with significant time spent on the West Coast). You will lead our Health, Safety & Wellbeing function to ensure all areas of safety and wellbeing risk are effectively managed across the Group. The role will work closely with the People & Capability and Quality & Environmental Managers to champion a positive safety culture, and support and influence continuous improvement in our performance to achieve of our goal of ensuring all team members are safe and well. Your Skills & Experience To be successful in this role you will have a strong working knowledge of industry risk with experience implementing and managing a safety management system, operational safety and influencing leadership and engagement within Westpower and the ElectroNet Group. You will have a strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices and will preferably have a tertiary qualification to support this knowledge. You will also be able to demonstrate how you have managed safety systems and supported safe behaviour at all levels in previous roles. Experience within the electricity or similar industry is advantageous. You will be highly adaptable, and a great relationship builder with a passion for keeping people safe. You will have the ability to demonstrate strong communication and influencing skills at all levels. In addition, you need to enjoy working within a team environment with a down to earth, enthusiastic and ‘hands on’ approach to problem solving.
