Top Energy has operations throughout the Far North. The company is privately owned by a power consumer trust and employs staff in Geothermal Generation and Distribution Lines operations.

We are seeking a Health, Safety and Risk (HSR) Advisor to support the Health, Safety and Risk (HSR) Manager to provide overall H&S advice and information to the Top Energy Group. The HSR Advisor will provide administrative support and assistance to the HSR Manager to develop, implement and monitor effective risk and H&S policies, procedures and systems.

This position will report to the HSR Manager and will be based at our Kerikeri office.

Key areas of focus will be:

  • Improve staff safety culture, achieved through effective communication, consultation, and support to leadership teams
  • Improve staff risk awareness, safety performance and compliance, achieved through effective policies, processes, audits, guides and training
  • Supporting the HSR Manager to conduct contractor assessments and pre-qualification to work on Top Energy’s network and assets
  • Provide administrative support to the HSR Manager and preparing reports for observations, incident investigations and recommendations for control and correction of accidents and hazards
  • Deliver H&S Induction training to new staff and managers
  • Support the HSR Manager in leading the Health & Safety Welfare Committee
  • Coordinate annual compliance health checks
  • To succeed in this role, you will hold a National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management Level 4 (or equivalent) qualification, with at least three years’ experience in administration within a multi-site or utility industry organisation. A good understanding of relevant legislation and of ISO standards and requirements is required. It is essential that you also have experience in engaging staff from across organisations and in instigating, leading and managing small internal projects.
