A centre of expertise for head and neck surgery and otolaryngology (ENT), it offers oral and maxillofacial, gynaecological, plastic and reconstructive and general paediatric surgery, backed up by friendly, highly professional nursing teams and systems designed to benefit patients of all ages.We are currently looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our fun, friendly team. This is a full-time position working rostered shifts. Our Healthcare Assistants are an integral part of our service ensuring our patients receive the best level of care.About the role:You will work as part of a tight knit multi-disciplinary team offering support and assistance to the Inpatient team nurses.This support role encompasses:stock management including bar code scanning of supplieshousehold tasks,maintaining service areas so they are tidy and restockedcustomer serviceMinimal direct care of surgical patients & assisting with showering, mobilising, and meals will also be requiredTo be a part of the team you will need:Previous experience within a healthcare setting (essential), preferably in a hospital environmentCompleted level 2 NCEA/6th form certificateA healthcare certificate or equivalent (desirable)Excellent communication skills with a high standard of written and literacy skillsExcellent computer skillsTo be flexible / adaptable and to respond positively to the changing needs of the businessHold relevant residency status to work in New ZealandFor thousands of Kiwis, Southern Cross Hospitals is their favourite hospital.
