This is a full-time position working rostered shifts. Our Healthcare Assistants are an integral part of our service ensuring our patients receive the best level of care.About the role:You will work as part of a tight knit multi-disciplinary team offering support and assistance to the Inpatient team nurses.This support role encompasses:stock management including bar code scanning of supplieshousehold tasks,maintaining service areas so they are tidy and restockedcustomer serviceMinimal direct care of surgical patients & assisting with showering, mobilising, and meals will also be requiredTo be a part of the team you will need:Previous experience within a healthcare setting (essential), preferably in a hospital environmentCompleted level 2 NCEA/6th form certificateA healthcare certificate or equivalent (desirable)Excellent communication skills with a high standard of written and literacy skillsExcellent computer skillsTo be flexible / adaptable and to respond positively to the changing needs of the businessHold relevant residency status to work in New ZealandFor thousands of Kiwis, Southern Cross Hospitals is their favourite hospital.
