Role: HR Analyst

Location: Wellington
Job type: Permanent
Salary: $65,000 – $98,000.

Are you an Analyst looking for a new challenge and want to contribute to make a real positive impact on children’s lives?

This is an exciting time as we are developing our HRIS systems and Payroll systems. In addition, we have recently embarked on a journey with Power BI Services and are looking to develop and transfer some of our reporting capability into this new cloud-based environment. This journey involves moving from traditional backwards looking reporting to modern data visualisation, storytelling, and predictive and prescriptive analytics.

This is a unique opportunity to help build the foundations of HR reporting and analytics at a maturing government agency.

This is an exciting time to be part of Oranga Tamariki. The HR Reporting and Analytics Team helps to deliver on our people strategy by providing targeted advice, support, and guidance to the managers on people-related issues and deliver an exceptional employee experience across Oranga Tamariki.

About the role | Mo te tunga

  • To be a success in this role you will be an experienced analyst who will provide people data to assist managers and senior leadership in making business decisions.
  • You will provide support with the analysis, management and reporting of quantitative data primarily through Excel and Power BI. In addition, this role will take accountability for the HR systems and looking for ways to improve them, both from a data perspective and from a customer perspective
  • You will get to work on a range of challenging programmes and projects, including developing content in Power BI and assisting the development of our new HRIS system, including its reporting services.
  • This is a dynamic, fast paced, and challenging environment with plenty of opportunities to make your mark and add value.

About you | Mou

  • You are a self-motived, outcome orientated, team player with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An experienced analyst
  • Experience in HR reporting, analytics and writing
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve customer queries and provide excellent service
  • Has excellent communication skills with the ability to take technical and complex information and translate this into informed data that tells a story
  • Is a self-starter
  • Has worked with a range of systems across the various HR functions
  • Is resilient and likes a challenge

Additional qualities that are desirable for this role:

  • Experience in SAP SuccessFactors
  • Experience using Power BI
  • Experience working in the public sector
  • Knowledge of relative Legislation covering Salary and wages, Holidays, Employment Relations, and the Privacy Act
