Job DescriptionTo assist with commercial inspections, verifying and surveying in the Auckland region (and potentially other areas of New Zealand where the Agricultural Services Sector operates), always ensuring that all tasks undertaken are performed in a truly professional manner so that the integrity of SGS is not compromised in any way. We are looking for candidates with the following profile:Team WorkerProfessional presentationStrong and positive customer service orientationAbility to communicate effectively, yet firmly when requiredA flexible and adaptable attitudeDemonstrates initiativeAble to organize own work schedule, self motivated and work unsupervised in remote locationsMust be physically fit due to the demands of the roleAbility to work additional hours as and when requiredAvailability to participate in after hours and weekend roster duties as requiredActively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS managemenQualificationsWorking experience in the primary sector (farming, forestry, horticulture, seeds) or a degree in horticulture or a related discipline advantageousKnowledge of horticulture industry. Experience in a regulatory and/or food safety and quality systems.Ability to read, understand and put into practice all quality assurance procedures necessary to complete assigned tasks in the required time and mannerDemonstrated excellence in communication, both verbal and writtenCompetent numeracy and literacy skillsDemonstrated problem solving and analytical skillsProficient report writing and computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as simple database managementCurrent and unrestricted New Zealand drivers license and the ability to operate a manual vehicleAdditional InformationWe are a compact team focused on ensuring phytosanitary security compliance for exporting most fruits and vegetables abroad, in accordance with MPI IVA and ICPR standards, throughout different stages from the field to the phytosanitary certificate verification. Applicants for this position should have a NZ residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
