This is your opportunity to join an innovative NZ business at the cutting edge of automation and robotics in manufacturing!Due to a very large (30 Robot+) Project, we are now seeing a need for an inhouse Intermediate Mechatronics/Robotics Engineer to assist with the build, programming and commissioning of the automation equipment used on site.We have our own design and build facilities for new automation solutions, so you will be involved in the programming, installation and commissioning of new machinery.These machines include:Robot WorkcellsCamera Guided RobotsMobile Robots+ a number of customised pieces of automation machineryTraining for this role will be provided, but you are expected to have a solid foundation in software development – ideally with C#, but any object-oriented programming language would be useful.We are adding 10-15 robots a year in the factory, so there is plenty of scope to learn technical skills and be involved at the front of your field.Who are we looking for?You may have done an Engineering or Computer Science degree, but you also need to have solid skills in software programming and an interest in factory automation and efficiency.You do not need to be an expert in all of them, but the role will require familiarity with following technologies:RoboticsIndustrial Vision SystemsEngineering DesignCommissioning complex machineryC# or Java (desirable)The role will predominantly involve project work. Most projects will be interfacing directly with factory machinery and robotics. Projects range from small standalone units to large installations with multiple stations.The hours for this role will follow a standard working week (7.00am-5.00pm – Monday to Friday), but there may be times where overtime is required.You will also have the opportunity to lead projects and be involved in the decision-making process.
