International Business Development Manager

About the role:

The International Business Development Manager will be responsible for achieving DGCs bulk milk ingredient sales budget including managing customer relationships, developing and agreeing specifications, and creating demand from new customers, forecasting customer demand, working with internal sales and operations teams to deliver customer expectations, leading the development of commercially viable new bulk products, and negotiating terms of supply with customers. The role will also lead the exploration of new product opportunities through the application of DGC science and development of relationships.

As an experienced business professional, you will be great at connecting with people quickly. You will have 5+ years' experience in a similar role with a high level of commercial acumen, and a proven track record in negotiation, relationship building, strategy development, and implementation.

About the day-to-day responsibilities:
  • Key Account Management.
  • Initiate, drive, and coordinate DGC’s bulk milk powder sales.
  • Maintain a rolling 18-month sales forecast for customers.
  • Lead assigned commercial negotiations and discussions regarding pricing, contracts, supply conditions, and other related activities.
  • Lead workstreams focused on exploring new ingredient product opportunities.
  • International travel – away for 2 weeks at a time 2-4 times per year.
  • Maintain DGC’s reputation for high-quality product and ethical behaviour.
  • Proactively identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to and participate in DGC’s Food Safety Programme and a positive health and safety culture.
  • Contribute to DGC’s commitment to sustainability and the minimisation of environmental impacts.
  • Attend and complete all assigned personal and professional development training.
  • You will have prior experience in sales, account management, and business development, within the dairy and FMCG sector. Experience working in Chinese markets and fluency in Mandarin would be highly advantageous but not essential.

    You will be a self-starter and possess proven relationship-building skills and a high level of negotiation skills. You will also have efficient project management and problem-solving skills with an excellent understanding of business operations within a manufacturing environment.

    Your leadership, relationship-building, time management, and organizational skills will see you succeed in this role. This is a full-time role.
