About the team

This is a small team within Patient Affairs who provide a critical service.

About the role – what’s in it for me?

In this fixed-term role you will effectively contribute to the smooth running of our Interpreter Service in Otago/Southland by providing an efficient and timely administrative support function that is responsive and flexible to the changing needs. A primary focus will be on building relationships with Southern DHB staff and external agencies, along with ongoing maintenance of the service and coordinating daily practice. You will be at the forefront of ensuring our diverse communities are well served with an effective interpreter service.

About you

You are a people person, you love helping and coordinating and making everyone’s day better. You will go the extra mile, you are calm under pressure and are a great listener while adhering to high standards of professionalism and integrity. You are interested in other cultures, have an interest and understanding of the health system and you like to help. Multilingualism is not required for the position however experience working with culturally diverse groups would be an advantage.
