An exciting opportunity exists in the newly established Covert Online Investigation Unit. The purpose of this unit is to proactively target cyber-enabled crime, including serious and organised crime, with a focus on the use of covert techniques and offender engagement online.

 

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and motivated people to fill the position of investigator in the unit. This is an exciting field of investigation for New Zealand Police, with opportunities to work with other Police districts and national and international law enforcement partners.

Special requirements – the successful applicant will:

  • You must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
  • Due to the nature of the work in the covert online space and the fact investigators are exposed to graphic material a pre-appointment psychological assessment will be completed to determine the applicants suitability to work in this area
