The Upper South Youth Justice team are excited to announce a new Maori Specialist role in Youth Justice. The Kairaranga-ā-whānau role is a specialist role that works with our team to ensure the whānau fully participate in any decision making with their Rangatahi. The specialised skills the role encompasses are the ability to search for and engage with whānau, knowledge and understanding of whakapapa and the ability to facilitate hui-a-whānau. The team are looking forward to welcoming someone with these specialised skills that supports Rangatahi and whānau who are experiencing the Youth Justice system.
