Mō te tūnga | About the role 

We are looking for a Senior Policy Analyst with experience in implementation of significant programmes to support our Freshwater Implementation work programme.  The work will involve providing policy and planning on how freshwater national direction is being implemented.  

You will be responsible for providing advice on frameworks to support freshwater implementation.  You will also:  

  • provide coordination and technical leadership for projects
  • draw on your experience to provide advice to the Minister and sector reference groups
  • have the opportunity to mentor other analysts.

Our ideal candidate will bring: 

  • demonstrated experience in policy development and design
  • demonstrated experience in engagement with communities and collaborative working and an ability to work within te ao Māori environments
  • familiarity with resource management planning and/or local plan-making processes and freshwater national direction would be beneficial
  • strong analytical skills
  • project leadership and mentoring experience
  • proven experience delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • a desire to influence and think creatively to achieve results
  • strong relationship management skills, and an ability to quickly build credibility and trust
  • commitment to developing your cultural capability and capacity in te ao Māori.
