Immediate start

As a result of programme growth and development, Whitireia New Zealand is seeking a lecturer in management at a senior/experience to teach in our business postgraduate programmes at our Auckland campus located in the CBD.

The focus of this role is to teach our core research methods and leadership courses to international students enrolled in the Master of Management and Postgraduate Diploma in Management.

Whitireia has a strong commitment to vocational education, and our postgraduate programmes have been developed to turn that commitment into reality for our graduates. You will be part of a committed team focused on preparing our graduates for successful careers in industry.

Qualifications and/or experience

Essential:

  • PhD in Management or related discipline
  • Experience in teaching at postgraduate level (please include evidence of teaching evaluations in your application)
  • A clear commitment to student-centred teaching and learning
  • Ability to teach business research methods courses, preferably with a strong focus on quantitative or mixed-methods research orientation
  • Ability to teach courses in leadership
  • Experience in supervising masters level research
  • Evidence of a clear sustained program of research in business/management

Desirable:

  • Experience or an interest in teaching one or more of the following areas would be an advantage - in strategic human resource management, governance, supply chain management, and/or sustainability
  • An adult teaching qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of and experience in work-integrated learning approaches
  • Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
