Massey University’s Libraries offer physical and virtual environments that provide access to scholarly resources, anywhere, anytime. We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Library Assistant to join the vibrant and innovative Wellington Campus Library in a permanent part-time role.

The successful applicant will join the team responsible for providing library services and answering enquiries from internal and distance clients.

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening).
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Good digital literacy skills
  • Legal entitlement to commit to a full time permanent role in New Zealand

The successful applicant must have the ability to commit to the following shifts for a minimum 12 hours per week during the academic year:

  • Five hours: one week night shift (6pm-11pm, Monday-Thursday)
  • Two hours: one two-hour week day shift (anytime between 9am-1pm, Monday-Thursday)
  • Five hours: one weekend shift (10am-3pm or 3pm-8pm)

As this role involves shift work, including evening and weekend shifts, access to personal transport is recommended.
