We have an exciting opportunity for a loss adjuster in our Dunedin office. Commonly known as an Insurance Assessor, this role is mainly about helping people who have suffered a loss or damage to their building or property. The ideal candidate is someone with a property/construction background or has come from a similar role within the insurance industry.
**Desired skills and qualities for this role include:**
+ Experience in either the Insurance and/or building experience
+ Passion for helping people
+ Excellent written and verbal communication
+ Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
+ Problem-solving skills
+ Ability to be flexible for the business to respond to customers’ needs
**Main duties and responsibilities:**
+ Assess and manage domestic and commercial property claims.
+ Liaising with customers who have suffered a loss and need support through the claim process.
+ Facilitating the settlement of insurance claims involving analysing cause of losses, reporting to insurers, dealing with contractors and other suppliers, agreeing repair scopes and costs, agreeing quantum of claims, communication with customers and all involved parties.
