The roles | Mō ngā tūnga
We have two manager positions within our National Accounts business unit, one permanent and one fixed term.
National Accounts is made up of five teams split across Christchurch and Wellington. Our team produces key official economic measures including GDP, household saving and productivity. Our data directly informs economic forecasting and policy decision-making, investment decisions, research, media discussion and many other aspects of NZ s economic life.
The permanent Manager position will lead our Production and Supply-use team. The team sits at the core of our macroeconomic statistics. It brings together an array of rich datasets to measure what goods and services are supplied into the NZ economy and how they get used. It underpins GDP measures, provides the long-term view of NZ s economic structure, and produces GDP estimates for different regions in NZ.
The one-year fixed term Manager position will be leading our new Investment team. The team will deliver regular measures of the assets and liabilities of different sectors of the economy, and how debt is structured. It will produce balance sheets for the household sector that measure NZ households savings and debt, including housing, and will inform analysis and discussion of NZ s economic resilience.
In 2021, both teams will be involved in increasing the timeliness and scope of economic data available to inform decision making. These positions are a great opportunity to lead the delivery and development of critical economic data during a time when it is in high demand.
Salary $109,764 to $129,134 neg depending on skills and experience.
