Do you have expertise in managing processes associated with the annual cycle for Crown Entities to ensure suitably qualified candidates are appointed and their performance is monitored on an ongoing basis?

The Office of the Director-General directorate leads and supports organisational excellence by providing timely, high quality advice, communications, and governance support to ELT, and services to support ministers.

The Manager Crown Entity Performance and Appointments role is responsible for maintaining oversight of Crown entity performance and appointments to statutory boards. Key deliverables include the stewardship of the performance monitoring system ensuring alignment of objectives, that boards are high performing, and that appropriate senior engagement exists with each of the Crown entities. This role will be working closely with the Manager DHB and Crown Entity Monitoring within the Ministry’s Finance team.

To be successful, we are looking for your skills in working at both a strategic and operational level, with key teams within the organisation. You will have an advanced knowledge of government processes and protocol, risk management, managing at the political coalface and will be able to draw upon your networks within the sector to aid in the appointments process of Crown entities and boards. You will have a highly analytical mindset, an ability to interpret and understand information and an understanding and commitment to improving equity of outcomes and Maori Health.
