Our auditors combine extensive knowledge of a wide variety of businesses and sectors and a fresh approach to their work which includes an enhanced audit methodology that complies with International Auditing Standards.Assignments are often managed on a multi-disciplinary basis utilising the skills and experience of auditors from more than one service line.This role sits within the Financial Services team of the wider KPMG Audit division with clients being financial institutions including banks, finance companies, insurers and funds and fund managers.The opportunity: We are seeking a Manager in our Financial Services Audit team, where you will work directly with senior management and audit partners as well as collaborating with senior stakeholders both internally and externally to the firm. You’ll expand your industry knowledge and deliver insights and best practices to our clients.Day to day you will:Audit assignment preparation and completionManage a portolfio of clients and audit assignments of a complex nature and/or higher risk and non-routine audits. In particular:Undertake strategic analysisPlan overall work requirements of an auditIdentify business and audit risksAssess effectiveness of client processes and controlsAudit complianceEnsure effective use and application of KPMG Audit Manuals, auditing standards, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and KPMG auditing software.Technical learning and developmentDevelop and apply specialist technical skills and knowledge in particular audit areas eg, banking and finance, insurance, treasury.Business developmentTake a broad view of client needs, looking beyond own area of experience and know-howStaff managementCoach, develop and support staff in the delivery of services to KPMG so that KPMG is able to meet its obligations to clients What you’ll bring to our team: Previous experience delivering audit & assurance engagements for Financial institutions – Banking, Asset Management and/or InsuranceHold membership with CAANZ/CPA or relevant overseas professional bodyPrevious experience coaching and mentoring junior team membersAbility to build meaningful relationships with clients, staff and partnersAbility to be flexible and adaptable within a team environmentA high level of self motivation, energy and drive with the ability to manage and meet work demandsStrong project management techniques including decision-making ability, analytical skills, time management, organisation and evaluative skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAt KPMG, we are committed to providing open and friendly environments for our people that offer long term growth, constant challenge and generous rewards.
