Join the Ministry of Health as our new Manager, Health and Safety and help us embed and further improve our Health & Safety vision, initiatives and culture through Ministry-wide engagement, collaboration and innovation.   


About the opportunity:

This is a critical role for the Ministry and you will engage widely within the business to develop, implement and champion the Health and Saftey work programme and outcomes across the Ministry. To deliver this you will:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to various stakeholders including the Executive Leadership Team, Health & Safety Reps, and the Health and Safety committees
  • Be responsible for providing strategic and operational health and safety expertise that will help facilitate our employees’ safety and wellbeing
  • Work closely with the Group Manager, Operations and the Advisor Health and Safety (who will report to you).


About you:

To be successful, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Have participated in and/or led the implementation of health and safety best practice across a large, multi-office organisation
  • Experience delivering Health and Safety training across all levels of an organisation
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015
  • You will be an effective relationship manager and an engaging communicator able to deliver complex issues in a simplistic way to meet the needs of your audiences
  • Knowledge of the ACC Accredited Employers programme and experience in the audit process.
