Ko tā mātou mahi – Our role

Due to a time of exciting growth at Kāinga Ora we are currently recruiting for a Manager Health and Wellbeing. This is a new role and you will be responsible for leading out the health and wellbeing five-year plan, setting the strategic direction for occupation health, wider organisational wellbeing (including the wellbeing focus of supporting our Customers and Communities). We are looking for an experienced senior people leader who can manage our approach to occupational health and its link to safety practices, wellbeing activities, providing assurance relating to effective occupational health management, lead health and wellbeing promotion and work with our wider Safety, Support and Wellbeing team. You will be the technical expert and lead for this function and provide people and operational leadership to the team members. The wellbeing of our wider Communities and those we interact with is fundamental to the shaping of our work programme.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu – What you will bring:

  • Be a qualified health or medical professional such as Registered General Nurse, MSc/BSc in Occupational Health (clinical work not required so practicing certificate is not essential) with strong working understanding of the Health and Safety at Work legislation and of the occupational health requirements of great practice
  • An understanding of community health issues and diseases
  • Modern safety practices and thinking, environmental health or hygiene knowledge, an understanding of HSNO, chemicals and hazardous substances on health such as asbestos and lead
  • Display passion, energy and a expert skills in health promotion, wellbeing, workplace health and safety
