Mō tō mātou rōpū (About our team):

The Ministry for Primary Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Manager Information and Events, with a background in successfully planning and delivering social marketing campaigns and events management. The role leads a team of marketing and events professionals, so we are looking for someone who has a combination of management and planning skills and who can bring creativity and innovation to the table.  This newly created role reports to the Director Engagement and Information. It will bring together all of MPI’s significant behaviour change and awareness programmes as well as having responsibility for prioritising and delivering significant MPI related events.


Mōu – (About You):

We are looking for a marketing and events professional who can create a shared vision and articulate a clear strategic direction for MPI’s suite of behaviour change programmes. You will have management experience in leading a team to deliver high quality results and be familiar with operating in a public sector context. You will be able to maximise the use of resources and build relationships with partner organisations which are mutually beneficial. You are an agile operator who has the ability to bring together a new team and develop operating and reporting processes and a positive team culture. Kōrero mō te tūranga (About the role):

  • Leading and developing a team of marketing and events professionals.
  • Bringing together significant behaviour change programmes and events into one team.
  • Advising MPI branches on where social marketing and public awareness campaigns can support their work.
  • Ensuring that a best-practice and evidence-based approach is adopted for all social marketing, consumer and public awareness, and education campaigns.
  • Developing processes for the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of MPI’s campaigns and events. 
  • Proactively managing reputational risk and issues.
  • Ensuring project management disciplines and financial accountability policies are adhered to.
